Maya Nicholls, CMT, NCTMB
Maya loves to give massage because she enjoys helping people feel better. Maya is extremely compassionate, has a calming and quiet personality and genuinely cares about her clients well-being. Maya has a unique ability to release chronic tension, relax a tired soul and provides a quiet beautiful sanctuary so that you can "Be truly cared for."
Maya graduated from the Sebastopol Massage Center in 2008 and has been practicing massage ever since. In 2010, Maya graduated from Sky Hill Institute with over 800 hours of intensive massage therapy education. Maya is an Essential Oil Specialist and uses a variety of healing essential oils during her massage sessions. Maya is a California State & Nationally Certified massage therapist and is fully insured through ABMP. In 2016, Maya plans to study a new modality called Ashiatsu in Portland Oregon.
Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique that uses deep compression effleurage strokes that glide over the body. It combines flowing centrifugal and centripetal push & pull: pumping movements that can create a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage. Bars are used above the client's body for balance, support and precise pressure. It's the deepest most luxurious and therapeutic massage on the planet and Maya will be offering it sometime in 2017. Maya is currently not massaging clients, because she is home caring for her toddler, but she is still
managing her business and making sure you receive superior care
from all of her therapists!
Lexi Ward, MT
has been involved in the healing arts most of her life. She became a
massage therapist in 2000, practicing conscious bodywork for over 14
years. She has expanded upon a wide variety of healing modalities,
specializing in deep tissue, swedish, reflexology and energy balancing.
Lexi also had the privilege of working with the late Shoshone elder
Corbin Harney. Harney started Poo-Ha-Bah (doctor water) a healing center
in Death Valley. Working closely with Harney, the healing waters and
learning the nature ways, she intends to pass along this wisdom for
future generations. With Lexi having Native American blood in her, she
feels honored to share her knowledge and gifts. Her focus lies in
bringing all people together in honoring our mother earth and all we
are, for peace and harmony for all of creation. She is a mother of
two, a kundalini yoga instructor, and an advocate for sustainability and
justice for all people.
Gabriel Bloomer, CMT
Gabriel graduated with honors from National Holistic
Institute in January, 2012, also earning letters of excellence and his personal
favorite, the Student Services Award for his time spent tutoring his fellow
students. As a teaching assistant, he
still spends time at NHI, helping students find new ways to enjoy giving and
receiving massage. He has practiced
locally and in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area. Gabriel is calm and compassionate and feels a
deep connection with all of his clients.
Knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology gives him a unique
perspective on his clients’ pain and what might be causing it. His passion lies in more specific modalities
like deep tissue, myofascial therapy and trigger point
therapy but he is also
skilled in Swedish, sports, and pregnancy massage, acupressure and reflexology. Certified by the California Massage
Council (License #31444), he is a member of the American
Association (AMTA #1273604).
“I perform every massage with integrity and gratitude in
order to bring my clients a sense of wholeness and well-being.”
Michael Walsh, MT
Michael's formal training began over 15 years ago when he studied Acupressure and Shiatsu at the Acupressure Institute in Berkley, California. His studies continued and broadened at The Pacific Center of Awareness and Bodywork in Hawaii where he learned Deep Tissue and Structural Integration. These experiences helped Michael realize his passion for Bodywork and they have provided the basis for his well rounded approach to Healing Touch.
Micheal has studied Swedish, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Cranial Sacral, Deep Tissue, and Structural Integration. His style usually incorporates most of these modalities into a seamless experience that is potent yet relaxing. Micheal has a strong yet nurturing touch and the ability to be versatile in his approach to bodywork. Whether you are looking for a therapeutic Deep Tissue massage or more of a relaxing Swedish style or a combination of both, Michael can accommodate to your specific requests. Michael is aware that every client has different needs and he is sensitive to these needs.
Clients often tell Michael that his intuitive style of assisted stretching and joint movement is very effective. He has found that this technique is useful for unwinding chronic tension and alleviating pain from old injuries. His calm and relaxed demeanor helps to facilitate a space of trust where deep healing and relaxation can begin.
